Growing In Unity Girl~Day 1

Hello and happy Monday!!!!!! It is my first day as a GIU girl and today I've chosen to share a couple of my gift tags for the season. My little mittens were a gift from Unity. The tags and sequins were Unity gifts as well!  For my mitten tag, I painted the entire tag with blue acrylic paint. Stamped my mittens and sentiment (sentiment from October 2014 KOTM). I glued a tiny turquoise bead to the center of each sequins. My sweet angel from October 2014 KOTM was stamped on the kraft colored tag in versa mark and embossed in black. Next, I painted her with pearlescent watercolors. To finish her off, I put iridescent glitter on her wings....she is super sparkly! Both tags were given some pretty ribbon that I heated to give them a vintage touch. It is one of my favorite things to do!
I will be through Friday, featuring some fun projects. To be eligible for a random drawing to win 2 itty bitty's of your choice from Unity, comment on my blog! I thank you for checking things out!! Come back again tomorrow for a fun project for the holidays!

Take care,

Pam

Just for Fun over at MPC~Trees

And we're off!  It is the holiday season and more than decorations or gifts that can be bought, I am so thankful for my health and all of the fabulous people in my life!

Over at Mountain Plains Crafters, we decided to do a "just for fun" challenge and make it all about trees. I used a tree punch and then ran them through the crimper. I got the idea from the fabulously creative Kittie....I wish I had the time to find the blog post on it, but I am about to head to bed. Next, I used red liquid pearls for ornaments. The bg was done by using post-it notes to cover the snow and I brayered the night sky with not quite navy. I added a bit of gray to the tops of the snow drifts for definition and then I painted on pearly shimmer paint for snow. After playing the trees onto the bg, I took a toothbrush dipped in the shimmer paint and flicked it on for a snowstorm! I did the same with the sentiment, too. The stars are stickers that I've probably had since my girls were tiny.....maybe 16 or so years ago!
May your Black Friday find you where you want to be and with the ones that you all love!
We are headed up to the mountains so that our younger daughter can finally see the log home we've purchased!

Blessings,

Pam

Mountain Plains Crafters "giving thanks design team" DIY November Blog Hop

Good day out there in cyberland!  Today is the first day of our November Do It Yourself blog hop. Each of us designers is showcasing a homemade project. You have to go check out MPC here.
I started with a 10 x 10 canvas that I purchased at Micheals...it is stretched over wood and made a mixed media canvas. I started by painting the edges in the green acrylic paint. Next, I chose designer papers from Primas 6 x 6 Fairy Flora. I mod podged all the paper on and added some paint in various colors to edges. Next, I chose some chipboard...key, lock device, flourish and the fancy butterfly. All of the embellishments were added with Tombow's mono glue (Tombow is the ONLY glue for me). After painting the flourish in cream, I stamped the itty bitty from Unity Handwritten on it. I stamped the lock device in brown and stamped Gorgeous grunge in cream on it and the key was done in cream and a stamp from SU The Open Sea stamped in burnt umber. Added some more stamping with acrylic paints (be sure to immediately clean your stamps off with warm water and a brush). Here are the Unity Sets I used in putting this together: Itty bittys-Here today/Here tomorrow, Passion changes everything, Embrace You, Bitty Backgrounds KOTM 6/14. I added a variety of flowers and touched them up with acrylic paints, flourish butterfly trails done in rhinestones, a piece of lace, a piece of burlap and an organza bow in cream that I heated to distress it. This was very fun for me. I wish I was good at videotaping...maybe someday.
Head on over to Jennifer's blog here and give her some love!
Be sure and visit each design team member's blog and leave a comment, then enter the Rafflecopter giveaway.  Come back tomorrow to MPC to finish the hop!

Splitcoaststampers CC504, Mojo Monday 371

I truly am not sure just how many photos I've taken of this card to try and capture the glitter. It keeps capturing only the glitter that I don't want it to capture!!!! You know what I mean? I give up.
I made this for the Mojo Monday blog 371 sketch challenge and it can be found here. I am all about tilted panels so this was right up my alley....I DO have issues with measuring though. I also did this for Splitcoaststampers color challenge CC504 which is calypso coral, crisp cantaloupe and crumb cake. The dessert was to do emboss resist. MariLynn and I then challenged one another to a recipe...I picked two and she picked two. I chose lace and pearls and she chose text (not sentiment) and glitter. That being said....I couldn't get the dang glitter to photograph...so much prettier IRL. I stamped Unity's itty bitty handwritten on white card stock in burnt umber and then stamped Designs by Ryn forest floor in versa mark and embossed with clear ep. Using sponges, I put on the color challenge colors. Kraft was used for the bg and the borders were done with crisp cantaloupe. A woodgrain ef for layer behind homemade dp and dainty pearls applied there. I also put a pearl in the center of the antique brad. As usual, the card is much prettier IRL!
Check out the challenges!

Mojo Monday Sketch challenge MOJO370, MFP color challenge 42

My friend MariLynn is a major source of my inspiration these days and I sincerely thank her for that. Today we decided that we would use the mojo Monday sketch and SCS sketch challenge today and use the same items on both creations. Also, I did MFP's color challenge of rust (dusty durango), green (true thyme) and blue (baja breeze). I have one done thus far and am super happy with how it came out. I just ordered this stamp from Ryn Creations~Forest Floor. I did the polished stone technique for the bg and then stamped the Forest Floor in staz-on. I made the mojo sketch vertical. The burlap embossing folder, a fun lacey scalloped edge punch, twine, a tag with the sentiment from SU! Short & Sweet. Now to make the other card.

Take care,

Pam
